„This summer school – with the topic: Enabling Technologies, Opportunities and Research Challenges Ahead – can really help me with my future projects!“

The university website provided me all the information about the Erasmus program and summer school programs, through this I got to know about the summer course. This course is specially on Industry 4.0which is the current technologies that are most used. As an Engineer knowing about the currenttechnologies is a must.

Co-ordinator’s from both the universities had help me to go through all the administration work in completion of my application.

The University had also offered us a tour to the Museum in Pisa and during the Leisure times, I travelled with other students to Florence and Viareggio city both are beautiful places. They are many international students in the course, we went out for dinners which was good and got to know many things.
Though Pisa, is very small city but it is filled out with 50,000 students so the city is very bright with the people which I love it, and the main attraction of the city is leaning tower of Pisa, they are few other parks near to the city to sit and relax.“

Through this course, I learnt many things from Industry 4,0. Which I don’t know them before and got a full overview about how the things works. This application can reallyhelp me in my future projects. When I was talking with many students from differentcountries get to know about different experience from them.
Overall, the course was really good for the students both educationally and personal experiences.

„The conference was an ever memorable experience for my academic life.“ – My trip to the 2022 IEEE SENSORS APPLICATIONS SYMPOSIUM in Sweden

„SAS 2022 conference was organized at Quality Hotel Sundsvall. Participants are provided with discounted stay facilities at the same. Sensors Applications Symposium is prestigious Conference which started in 2006 in Texas and is conducted in a hybrid model in 2022. I came to know about the conference as my co-authors of publication were already part of SAS Conferences before. Each publication team need to submit an abstract first followed by first draft of the publication and scrutiny of the applications takes place. (…)

Programs at the 2022 IEEE SENSORS APPLICATIONS SYMPOSIUM (SAS 2022) were divided into separate sessions. Presentations could be either of Poster Presentation or Slide presentation. Each day focuses particularly on a specific topic and journals which are related to topic are presented. (…) On the next day me and my project advisor Mr. Maximilian Wohlschläger started early to explore the city before the session starts and stunned by the Scandinavian architecture style. The second conference day started with a Keynote and followed by regular sessions and the main attraction of the day was Gala Dinner. Attendees were taken to a hilltop where we had an official dinner. Awards were distributed on different categories. I was stunned that I have been awarded “Student Travel Grant Award” among other 5 winners during the ceremony. (…)“

The conference was an ever-memorable experience for my academic life. I was able to meet and bond with people from different parts of the world. Since I was the only master student attending the conference, this opportunity was a major eye opener for me to pursue a career as a researcher or not. I am happy to find out the ongoing research in my areas of interest and there was a lot of interesting research happening. As an Indian student studying in Germany, I was able to extend my international exposure and proud that I have a group of international friends hailing from Germany, Austria, Italy, Canada, and United Kingdom. It is a dream come true moment for me to present my master project as a paper publication in an international Conference and indeed an indelible experience. I would like to extend my gratitude to my project guide Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Versen and project advisors Mr. Maximilian Wohlschläger and Ms. Nina Leiter for the guidance and wholehearted support.

Summer School in Prague: „One of the best things I will remember is the contact to an international group from almost thirty different countries.“

Preparation: Searching of universities and programmes abroad

  • I found the programmme on the summerschoolsineurope.com website. This programme fulfilled my criteria best. Interesting course program, good location in an international city and a good aftercourse programme.
  • Planning, application process and coordination at the host university
  • First step was a pre-request for a scholarship. Second was the application for the programme on the website of the Prague summer school. Third booking of the course the actual request for the scholarship.

Programme: At the arrival day there was a come together at the accommodation place with a personal introduction round. All necessary information’s were provided. The organisation was in general well thought through.

  •  I choose the project management course which was a course on introduction level. The learning environment was good and there was always assistance available when needed.
  • The course level was well balanced, and the teacher was native speaker with good teaching skills. I would overall recommend the program for future participants as it was a very good experience.

  • There was almost every day after work activities offered with two local guides who organised all the activities. They put a lot of effort in the organisation which was very appreciated by the participants.
  • There were for example a beach volleyball activity, a pub crawl, a karaoke night, a movie night, and several other activities. The activities were very appreciated by the participants.
  • Despite there were a lot of organised activities, there was also enough spare time beside the studying and course times.
  • A must see is in Prague is the well-preserved city centre. Prague is famous for its night live with pubs and discotheques, also the river side with bars and party boots is recommended.

Some of the course contents can surely be transferred to my future working life, as in engineering the work is lot of times organised in projects. One of the best things I will remember is the contact to an international group from almost thirty different countries. It has been a very good atmosphere in the course and during the leisure activities. It was a very nice experience with a lot of fun and very interesting to get to know a lot of different cultures.
